How do I rent a DVD/Movie?

If you have used a vending machine or even an ATM — you can easily use our Kiosk:


RENT a movie: Select the movie you wish to view from the touch on-screen menu, then press the RENT button, then swipe your credit/debit card just as you would at a grocery store during checkout or at an ATM, your DVD will be delivered to you through the dispensing slot, take home and enjoy!


RETURNING a movie: Insert the DVD into the same DVD dispensing slot you got the movie and you are done


When do the Kiosks get new movies?

In most cases new release movies are available every Tuesday. There are occasions when a releasing studio ships a new release late to us and causes a delay.


Can I go online to reserve movies and pick them up at the Kiosk?

Absolutely! InstantDVD´s online reservation is simple and easy to use. Just go back to the homepage (InstantDVD.com) and in the upper left hand corner find the Kiosk in your area. Reserve the movie you wish to see, and then pick it up at the Kiosk.


InstantDVD does not charge for this service because we want to offer you as much convenience as possible. Anyone can reserve up to one movie at a time.


Is there a membership required for me to use a Kiosk?

There is no membership required to use our Kiosk. There is no long application process nor a membership card for our Kiosks. A valid credit/debit card is the only thing you need. There are memberships available to anyone who wishes to become a member.


Which credit/debit cards does InstantDVD accept for payment?

The Kiosks do not accept cash. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit cards. We also accept debit cards as long as they have the Visa or MasterCard logos.


Is my credit/debit card number/information secure?

YES! InstantDVD leverages Secure Sockets Layer technology to encrypt your personal and credit card information. Your credit card number is not stored in the kiosk computer system and is encrypted in all transactions going to and from the bank. We also take great measures to prevent fraudulent use of your credit card.


Do I get a receipt? How do I get a receipt if the machines are paperless?

Of course! Since our Kiosks are completely paperless all you need to do is enter your email address during your first rental transaction and your receipt will be emailed to you. You are not required to provide us with you email address. However, if you wish to have receipt confirmation we do need it. You will always be prompted during the transaction if you wish to have an emailed receipt. You only need to provide us with you email address once. A return confirmation is also emailed. We completely understand your desire for privacy and if you wish to forgo providing us with your email address for receipts you can always see the transactions on your monthly bank statement (for debit cards) or your monthly credit card statement.


If I give you my email address will you sell it?

InstantDVD is in the business of providing home entertainment. We are not a data collection company. Your email address is used strictly for the email receipt/return confirmation process only. We will not sell your information to data collection firms. Providing us with your email address is just an added feature we provide to you in order to reduce our paper use and your recycling bin. Another additional benefit is we can email you promotions that include codes for free and discounted rentals.


Does InstantDVD offer promotions or discounts? If so, how do I get them?

InstantDVD does offer promotions and discounted rentals. All we need is your email address and when we offer a program you will be notified by email.


How do I use a discount or promotion that InstantDVD offers?

All promotions and/or discount offers will be emailed to you by InstantDVD. The specific offer will be explained within that email and you will also receive a code. You either write the code down or print out the email and go to your Kiosk. In order to redeem the offer you just follow the same rental steps as you always have:


1. Select movie, Choose "Rent"

2. Select "Use Coupon"

3. Swipe Credit/Debit Card


However, your credit/debit card will not be charged. It is only used to identify you as the customer.


Is there a limit on how many movies I can rent at the same time?

The number of titles a customer can rent initially is two. This is another security feature InstantDVD has incorporated into our system in case someone has stolen your credit/debit card. Once your initial rental transaction has been completed (rent & return) you will be able to rent up to 4 movies at a time.


How long may I rent a movie?

Non-members may rent a movie(s) up to 15 days before the system will charge you $25.00 and at that time the movie becomes your property. You will be charged the daily rates that are listed at the kiosk until the 15 day limit is reached.


Members are charged a flat monthly fee and that is charged every month automatically. You can keep a movie for up to 14 days with no extra charges. On the fifteenth day, you will be charged $25.00 and you may keep the movie.


What happens if I want to keep the movie and don´t return it?

Your credit/debit card will be charged $25.00.


What if I lose the DVD or DVD case?

Please call Customer Service at 888.200.7926 and we will provide instructions in order for you to return the movie without the case. In the event you lose the movie, you will be charged $25.00.


The Kiosk won´t take my DVD. What do I do now?

Each DVD has a security tag on it that the Kiosk recognizes during the return process. There are times when a customer takes the DVD case back to the Kiosk and forgets to put the actual DVD in the case. Please make sure the DVD is in the case first. Please make sure you have the correct DVD in the correct case in the event you are returning more than 1 movie.


Should the Kiosk not accept the movie even though the DVD is in the case and the security tag is intact please call Customer Service at 888.200.7926 for further instructions.


What if my disc does not play?

Check the playing surface of your DVDs for fingerprints should they ever skip or fail to play. More so than scratches, the dirt and oil from simple fingerprints can cause a disc to skip. To remove fingerprints and dirt, wipe the disc from the center outwards using a soft cloth (no papertowels). If problems persist, please contact Customer Service at 888.200.7926 for further assistance.
